AI*EMAX
In today’s technology dominated society we have come to rely heavily on electronic devices in all aspects of work and play. Wireless telecommunication devices such as cellular phones and pagers have become omnipresent. Increasing clock frequencies of microprocessors are challenging existing VLSI layout and design standards.
There is a growing need to understand the complex interactions of the electromagnetic radiation emitted/received by these devices. Not only to optimize device performance, such as computing an antenna radiation pattern, but also to ensure conformance with strict emission and susceptibility standards.
AI*EMAX software facilitates these complex analyses. The result of a collaborative effort between ANSYS Inc. and its ICEM CFD Engineering subsidiary, AI*EMAX provides the electronics engineer with a complete visualization of high-frequency electromagnetic phenomena in a virtual modeling space. It offers full-wave frequency domain electromagnetic simulation, applicable to cavity/resonant, wave propagation and scattering phenomena. AI*EMAX features the capacity to import geometry from many popular CAD packages and uses powerful hexahedral or tetrahedral meshing to create models, automatically or manually. Plus, it offers the benefits of fully parametric modeling, allowing easy model updates by simply changing one or more parameter values.
The automated post-processing calculations within AI*EMAX provide vital information on electric and magnetic field intensity, quality factor, scattering matrix parameters, voltage, current, characteristic impedance, radar cross section, near and far electromagnetic fields beyond the modeled domain, antenna patterns, and Joule losses.
